Effective date: August 15, 2026

Elévo is a general-audience educational and language-learning application operated by an independent developer. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Elévo iOS application processes, how that information is used, when it may be shared with service providers, and the choices available to you.

For privacy questions or requests, contact elevo2026@gmail.com.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the Elévo iOS application and the services used to support it. It does not automatically apply to separate websites, applications, or services that do not link to this Policy.

Elévo is not directed to children under 13 and is not offered as an Apple Kids Category app.

2. Information We Process

The information Elévo processes depends on the features you choose to use.

Account information

When you create or use an Elévo account, we may process your email address, an account identifier, authentication status, and session information.

Passwords are handled through Supabase Auth. Elévo does not maintain its own plaintext password database.

Elévo does not currently ask you to provide a profile containing your real name, avatar, birthday, gender, phone number, postal address, or precise location.

Learning data

Elévo may process learning information such as:

Some learning information is stored in the cloud and may also be cached locally on your device. Other learning information is stored only on your device. Not all learning data is cloud-synchronized.

Text and learning content you submit

When you explicitly use a feature that analyzes, translates, explains, or generates learning material, Elévo may process text you submit or select, such as sentences, paragraphs, excerpts, words, limited surrounding context, language information, and feature-related request parameters.

Please avoid submitting sensitive personal information about yourself or another person unless it is necessary for the feature you choose to use.

Imported books

TXT books that you import are stored locally within Elévo's application storage on your device.

Importing or reading a book does not, by itself, upload the complete book. If you select part of an imported book and request an online or AI-assisted feature, such as translation, explanation, vocabulary generation, or Learning Analysis, the selected excerpt and relevant context may be transmitted for processing.

Camera Learning

If you use Camera Learning, Elévo may process a photograph that you take or explicitly select.

When you start Camera Learning analysis, the image is resized and compressed, sent through Elévo's backend, and then sent to Z.AI/GLM Vision for recognition. Camera Learning is therefore not fully on-device, and the submitted image leaves your device.

Elévo does not intentionally save the submitted Camera Learning image in its application database or Supabase Storage. The current processing flow is request-based and uses the image for the recognition operation. Elévo also redraws the image before transmission rather than deliberately forwarding the original file and its original metadata.

Feedback

If you submit feedback, Elévo may process:

Optional feedback images are normalized and compressed before being stored in a private Supabase Storage bucket.

Purchases and subscriptions

Elévo uses Apple StoreKit for subscriptions and purchases. Apple processes your payment information.

Elévo may receive information needed to determine subscription status, such as product identifiers, entitlement status, transaction-related identifiers, and expiration or revocation information.

Elévo does not receive your credit card number, bank-account information, or complete Apple billing details.

Technical and operational information

Elévo and its service providers may process limited technical information needed to operate, secure, rate-limit, and troubleshoot the service. This may include IP address, request identifiers, timestamps, response or error status, latency, content length, and general server or access-log information.

Elévo does not currently use the iOS application for personalized advertising or cross-app advertising tracking.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to:

4. AI-Assisted Features

Some Elévo features use external AI services when you choose to invoke them.

Translation and explanation

When you request translation or explanation, selected text and related language or operation information may be sent through Elévo's backend to DeepSeek for processing.

Elévo's backend does not intentionally persist the raw Reader translation request in its own application database as part of the current translation flow. Results may be temporarily cached or saved locally when you choose to save them.

Learning Analysis

When you submit text for Learning Analysis, the text and related parameters may be sent through Elévo's backend to an applicable AI provider. Elévo may normalize or truncate the content before processing.

The original raw submission is not intentionally stored in Elévo's own backend database as the original request. Derived Learning Analysis results may be stored in Supabase and associated with your account, and those results may contain excerpts or sentences derived from the material you submitted.

Vocabulary generation

Elévo first uses its official dictionary and vocabulary-resolution systems where available. If an official result is unavailable or incomplete, Elévo may send a word, candidate lemma, language information, source type, and limited context to DeepSeek to generate learning content.

Generated vocabulary may be retained as reusable global dictionary content. If the content was initially associated with the account that generated it, that creator association is removed when the account is deleted, while the reusable vocabulary content may remain.

Camera recognition

Camera Learning images are transmitted through Elévo's backend to Z.AI/GLM Vision for recognition.

AI providers process information under their own service terms, privacy documentation, and data-processing arrangements. Their retention and processing practices are not controlled solely by Elévo and may differ from Elévo's own practices.

5. Local Device Storage

Some information is stored locally on your device, including certain:

Public vocabulary, official catalogue information, and reusable catalogue caches may remain on the device after you sign out because they are not specific to one account.

Local content may also be removed when you delete the application or erase the relevant device storage.

6. Service Providers

Elévo uses service providers to operate the application, including:

These providers may process information in the United States or other countries where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.

7. How We Share Information

We may share information:

Elévo does not currently sell personal information for advertising, does not use personal information for cross-app advertising tracking, and does not serve third-party advertising in the iOS application.

8. Data Retention

We retain account and cloud information while reasonably necessary to provide and secure the service, satisfy legitimate operational needs, or comply with applicable legal obligations.

When account deletion succeeds, active account data covered by Elévo's deletion process is deleted or de-identified as described below.

Local content generally remains until you remove it, successful account deletion removes it where applicable, the application is deleted, or the device or relevant storage is erased.

Operational logs, security records, backups, and provider-controlled residual copies may remain for limited periods under applicable provider retention processes. Elévo does not promise an exact deletion or backup period unless that period has been specifically configured and verified.

AI providers may retain or otherwise process requests and results under their applicable agreements and policies.

We may retain information where reasonably necessary to comply with law, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud or abuse, or establish or defend legal claims.

9. Account Deletion

You can permanently delete your Elévo account in the application through:

Settings → Account → Delete Account

Successful account deletion removes or de-identifies account-related information handled by Elévo, including your authentication account, user-owned cloud learning data, feedback attachments, account-linked usage information, account-specific local learning data, and imported books stored by the application.

Reusable global vocabulary may remain after any association with your deleted account is removed. Public vocabulary and catalogue data may also remain because they are not private account data.

Deleting your Elévo account does not:

If you have an active subscription, you must manage or cancel it separately through Apple's subscription settings. You can still delete your Elévo account while a subscription is active.

If remote deletion fails, Elévo does not treat the account as successfully deleted.

10. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live and subject to applicable law, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of certain personal information associated with you.

To make a privacy request, contact elevo2026@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

Elévo does not currently sell personal information or use the iOS application for targeted advertising or cross-app advertising profiling.

11. Permissions

Elévo may request access to:

Elévo does not currently request access to precise location, contacts, microphone, speech recognition, Bluetooth, or advertising tracking.

Text-to-speech does not require microphone permission.

12. Children's Privacy

Elévo is a general-audience educational application and is not directed to children under 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 in circumstances where applicable law prohibits doing so without appropriate authorization. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to Elévo, contact elevo2026@gmail.com so that we can investigate and take appropriate action.

13. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. Current measures include encrypted network connections for configured production APIs, server-side protection of privileged credentials, access controls on user-owned cloud data, and private storage for feedback attachments.

No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to Elévo, its service providers, or applicable requirements.

When we make changes, we will publish the updated Policy and revise its effective date. We may provide additional notice when required by law or when a change materially affects how information is handled.
